China plans to place a free-standing flag designed to 'flap' on the airless surface of the Moon. Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company aka Masdar and Emirates Water and Electricity Company are building a gigascale solar farm project in the capital of the United Arab Emirates. It will be coupled with a Battery Energy Storage System to supply energy even when the sun's not out. The project will deliver up to 1 GW of base load power every day, enough to power 750,000 homes.
