The Data Product Platform Navigator

This article presents a platform navigator based on the CNCF Platform Engineering Maturity Model to help organizations build self-service platforms for data mesh and data products. The author details four maturity levels—provisional, operational, scalable, and optimizing—arguing that reaching at least the scalable level is a prerequisite for successful data mesh adoption by reducing developer cognitive load and eliminating the platform gap.
