According to semiconductor research firm TrendForce, the growth of autonomous AI agents is expected to drive a four-fold increase in data center CPU core requirements. Because CPUs handle complex sequencing, task planning, and tool execution that GPUs cannot perform, operators may need to adjust their server infrastructure from the traditional ratio of one CPU for every four to eight GPUs to roughly one CPU for every one to two GPUs.
