Axon invests $1.2B in Skydio drone partnership

US public safety technology company Axon has announced a $1.2 billion investment in drone manufacturer Skydio, following discussions about a full acquisition that both companies ultimately rejected. The transaction values Skydio at $5.2 billion and increases Axon's fully diluted ownership by about 20%, while Skydio will remain independent.
