Researchers present an end-to-end resource estimation for running Shor's algorithm on superconducting cat qubits to factor RSA-2048. Assuming a 1-microsecond error-correction cycle time and specific noise parameters, the compilation requires about 23,000 cat qubits and 3.14 days. The team also estimates resource requirements for solving ECDLP and FFDLP benchmarks under similar cat-qubit architectures. Open article →
