Waymo to end Uber exclusive app deal in Austin, Atlanta

Alphabet Inc.’s Waymo plans to end its exclusive robotaxi partnership with Uber Technologies Inc. in Austin and Atlanta by January 2028. Waymo Co-Chief Executive Officer Tekedra Mawakana stated that the exclusive app deal was a 'crapshoot' for riders due to inconsistent self-driving service ordering experiences.
