Flashblocks preconfirmation on Base captures MEV, analysis finds
An analysis of one week of on-chain data on Base following its transition to Flashblocks reveals that almost all MEV is captured before blocks are published through specialized programs like Chainlink SVR feeds and order-flow routing. Despite a custom bot achieving single-digit millisecond reactions to public pre-confirmation streams, public-stream searchers are unable to capture profitable atomic arbitrage or liquidations. The findings indicate that latency is merely table stakes, while actual capture relies on pre-sequencer allocation and reliability rather than raw speed. Open article →
