JetBrains tests Java 27 compact object headers in IntelliJ IDEA

JetBrains evaluated the impact of compact object headers in Java 27 (Project Lilliput) by running automated workloads across three project configurations in IntelliJ IDEA. The testing revealed that while compact headers reduced internal object footprints within heap dumps by 6% to 8% and eliminated 8.8% to 13% of total allocated volume, they did not produce a consistent reduction in overall process RSS.
