te-comp compiler emits self-contained C engines for MCUs
Researchers have introduced te-comp, a complete MLIR-based compiler that transforms standard models in .tflite or .safetensors format into self-contained, dependency-free C code for microcontrollers. The tool emits all necessary source files including the inference engine and RTOS integration layer with zero runtime dependencies. On benchmarks, te-comp outperforms MCUNet TinyEngine in SRAM and Flash efficiency, and successfully demonstrates the deployment of an 8.3M-parameter GPT-Neo transformer on a single-core Cortex-M7.
