Make long-running agents faster with message threads

Anthropic has launched message threads in public beta on the Claude Platform to reduce latency for long-running agent sessions. By allowing agents to send only new messages since the last turn alongside a thread ID, requests with 500k to 1M tokens experience a median time-to-first-token reduction of about 35 percent.
