TLDR Crypto 2026-10-27
SoFi Tokenized Deposits 🏦, Agents Building Ethereum 🏗️, Perps Will Eat Options 📚
SoFi Launches Tokenized Deposit That Earns 4.4% in Stablecoins (3 minute read)
SOFIE is the first consumer-facing tokenized deposit from a US nationally chartered bank, with each token representing $1 on deposit earning 4.40% APY under FDIC insurance. Members convert SOFIE one-to-one into SoFiUSD, which runs on Ethereum and Solana and settles SoFi's card program via Mastercard's network, connecting yield-bearing bank deposits to onchain rails. The product targets an estimated $64 billion in idle stablecoin capital (about 21% of the market) by adding yield and insurance protections that pure stablecoins lack. SOFIE is SoFi's fifth crypto product in under a year, following consumer token trading across 40+ assets and the SoFiUSD stablecoin launch, extending the bank's pattern of converting traditional financial primitives into onchain equivalents.
CoinDCX confirms $16 million loss from retired wallets (4 minute read)
CoinDCX admitted losing 15.99M USDT from deposit wallets it stopped using after its July 2025 hack, and says it absorbed the loss. It says an automated sweeping service failed for a period, so user deposits built up at a deprecated address with unknown vulnerabilities. FlashRescue's co-founder flagged the outflows on Wednesday. CEO Sumit Gupta called it “a false alarm,” and the company's account called the claims “misleading.” ZachXBT showed one address was used for 10 months after the 2025 incident and swept deposits as late as April and May 2026. He advised users to withdraw and said the founders either lied or were negligent. CoinDCX says user funds are safe in cold wallets, and trading and withdrawals continued. The July 2025 hack cost about $44M. The founders were also arrested in March over a fraud complaint.
Circle Launches Circle Match for Institutional Users (2 minute read)
Circle Match, available for eligible Circle Mint customers, is an hourly auction that pairs institutional USDC mint and redemption orders within the Mint platform. When orders clear, minting participants receive a rebate while redemptions settle at a price the redeemer sets, distributing economic incentives to both sides of the institutional mint-redeem cycle. The underlying USDC flows remain unchanged, with Circle layering a price-discovery and rebate mechanism on top of existing infrastructure rather than altering the asset or its peg mechanics.
Vulnerabilities Found in Glamsterdam, Agents Came to the Rescue (5 minute read)
ChainSecurity flagged vulnerabilities in EIP-8037/8038, two state-pricing EIPs central to Glamsterdam's planned gas limit increase from 60M to 200M, with at least 13 major DeFi protocols identified as affected. The mechanism: EIP-8037's gas refill when storage slots are freed breaks the 1/64 gas guarantee in nested contract calls, enabling attackers to trigger outer-contract error handlers that lacked the gas to execute under the prior pricing model. Researchers from the Ethereum Foundation and Ethlabs each deployed AI agents overnight to scan for vulnerable contracts, then merged their efforts into a shared GitHub coordination repo where agents claim tasks via issue comments, deposit findings in structured directories, and produce consolidated memos without human intermediation. Core devs at the ACD paused any Glamsterdam launch date pending full impact analysis. The same agent-scanning framework is now running against EIP-8198 (Quick Slots, 12s to 10s slot time) ahead of Hegotá.
This Week on Base: Meme Summit, Mastercard, and More (3 minute read)
Mastercard launched Agent Pay for Machines with Cloudflare on Base, enabling AI agents to pay for digital services via x402. Morpho Midnight crossed $100M in total deposits, while Mag 7 tokenized stockholders deposited $9.57M and borrowed $4.08M USDC on Aave, with three in four of those users new to the protocol. Coinbase and The Block research puts the cost of a $200 USDC transfer on Base at 86% below traditional services. The week's launch slate included Thunes integrating stablecoins across its global payout network, Frax adding onchain FX markets, heydotxyz listing 194 tokenized stocks, and Spark Finance supplying over $400M USDC to Morpho's cbBTC/USDC market.
Perps Will Eat Options (8 minute read)
On-chain options hold under 1% of perp DEX volume despite representing 3x futures volume in TradFi. The gap persists partly because 10x perp positions carry a 47% liquidation probability over 180 days, making options the structurally superior instrument for multi-week theses. The growth mechanism is reflexive: options sellers hedge on perp markets, expanding perp OI rather than cannibalizing it, a dynamic Deribit already demonstrates with $2B+ in futures OI sourced from options hedging. September posted the best on-chain options month on record at ~$5B notional (7% of Deribit volume), with Derive commanding 90%+ of on-chain premium at $18B notional traded and DRV up 1,000%+ YTD at 66x annualized revenue. On-chain options are projected to grow from 0.8% to 5% of perp volume. Hyperliquid via Hypercall's shared margin, Derive, and Paradex will be the primary beneficiaries.
Keystone Hardware Wallet Confirms Customer Shipping Data Breach (2 minute read)
Keystone Hardware Wallet confirmed on October 23 that a third party accessed customer shipping data through its website, exposing names, addresses, contact details, and order information, while payment credentials, recovery phrases, private keys, and wallet passwords remained unaffected. The breach was detected on October 20 and traced through Shopify API logs. Keystone has blocked the access, patched the vulnerability, and opened a formal investigation with customer notifications underway. Keystone warns affected users to expect phishing attempts from actors impersonating the company offering refunds or replacement devices, and urges customers never to share recovery phrases and to navigate to the site directly rather than clicking unsolicited links.

This post presents a roundup of new apps, framed around Solana's 150 ms finality, Hyperliquid tooling, and growing tokenized stock DeFi. Hypurrdash is a Hyperliquid terminal with private TWAPs, swarm orders, a liquidation heatmap, and new VWAP orders. Silhouette turned on perps RFQ for BTC and HYPE, up to $100k per quote. 2Factor Finance offers about 1.33x BTC on Base with no liquidation price. Trueo has permissionless prediction markets where positions earn yield in a Yearn USDC vault. Catalyst runs perps on whether an event happens. Pabox lets you borrow USDG against Robinhood Stock Tokens, pausing when the stock market is closed. Fluxion is Mantle's native DEX for xStocks 24/7.
