‘Bitcoin Valley’ Hub Launches In Honduras (2 minute read)

The tourist town of Santa Lucia, Honduras, has launched a bitcoin hub that aims to increase the flow of tourists by accepting bitcoin in local shops. Guatemalan cryptocurrency exchange Coincaex will provide merchants with the means to accept bitcoin as payment. It will convert bitcoin to the local fiat currency for the merchant at point of sale to ease out volatility. The initiative includes fostering local education on Bitcoin and cryptocurrency.

Aave DAO Approves Creating GHO Stablecoin (2 minute read)

Aave DAO voters have approved the creation of the GHO stablecoin. The proposal was backed by 99.9% of voters. GHO will be a stablecoin backed by collateral consisting of other cryptocurrencies. It will be overcollateralized, and Aave will charge interest on loans taken out with GHO. GHO will be burned when loans are repaid. Aave DAO will soon vote on the genesis parameters for the stablecoin.

Civic Adds Verification Platform to Battle Bots and Scams (4 minute read)

Civic, a web3 identity and reputation company, has launched a tool called uniqueness verification and a new platform called Civic.me. Uniqueness verification is a service that limits the number of wallets an account can use for NFT drops. It relies on an invisible and non-transferable token called Civic Pass that is issued to users' wallets. Users are verified through a video selfie system. They can then manage their online identities through Civic.me.
